I got this recipe from my mom. She got it from her mom, my grandmother. I don't know where grandma got it, but I haven't found a better recipe for pie crust!
Lately, I've found that the Pillsbury® Pie Crusts [pillsbury.com] are surprisingly good, so if you'd like a quick and easy shortcut...
However, you may not care for the Pillsbury® Pie Crusts, mom says they are too thick, so here's the recipe for the best pie crust ever:
Five single crusts
Cut together the first three ingredients. Then beat the egg in a one-cup measure, add to the beaten egg the two tablespoons of vinegar, and enough water to make one full cup, mix well. Add the egg, vinegar, and water mixture to the flour mix, and mix into a uniform dough.
The vinegar makes the crust flakey and easy to roll. The dough can be refrigerated for up to three weeks or it can be frozen.
Enjoy!
